The first race of the season kicks off at McKillican in Algona, Washington on March 30, 2012, followed by Richelieu’s event at their Calgary, Alberta, Canada branch on April 19th. Then, beginning in June, E.B. Bradley Company rolls out non-stop action with a series of races planned for their locations in San Diego, Anaheim, and Hayward, California; Portland, Oregon; and Kent, Washington.
“These events were a big hit last year and we expect some of our hard core competitors to break out some pretty serious sanders they’ve souped-up over the winter,” says Jamie Goodwin, West Coast Regional Manager for Accuride.

Competitors vie for awards on a 75-foot wooden track complete with Christmas-tree starting signals. The sawdust—and occasionally the sanders—really flies on this track, as racers aggressively compete for the fastest times. There are two classes, stock and modified, with a first place award presented in each category. Other awards include Best Dressed for creative sander decoration and a special Judge’s Award.

Comprised of aluminum tracks and re-circulating ball carriages, this system is a cost-effective solution for projects that require a defined length of travel.

The multi-component aspect of the 115RC System provides for flexibility in system configuration, mounting, and installation. The versatility of this product opens up a wide variety of potential applications, such as providing movement and positioning for screens, panels, and boards; or medical apparatus, machinery and manufacturing equipment.

The corrosion-resistant aluminum track is available in two lengths, 47" and 94", which may be cut to the required length. Multiple sections may be butted together to extend the track to any distance desired. The track may be side, flat, or vertically mounted. When flat mounted, the track may be oriented with the ball carriage facing up or down. Vertical mounting is for applications calling for a non-load bearing guide.

The recirculating ball carriages provide the means for movement and positioning. Multiple carriages may be inserted into tracks. Carriages may be used separately to provide independent movement, combined as a unit, or both methods within one track.

The 115RC system carries a maximum of 265 pounds. Load rating is based on the type and number of carriages inserted into the track.

There are two carriage options: the stainless steel ball carriage offers the highest load capacity. The polymer ball carriage is grease-free for clean and maintenance free operation with the added advantage of smooth and quiet movement.

There are a number of features to ease installation. The tracks have drilling marks for both the fixing holes and end stops. Once the track is installed and the ball carriages are inserted, end stops are attached to keep carriages securely within the track.

The self-closing action is achieved through a spring-loaded device that activates about 1-1/2 inches from the closed position. This integrated device is designed to close drawers completely and keep them closed, eliminating the hazard of half-open drawers, while also keeping drawer fronts neatly aligned.

This feature helps prevent tipping of multi-drawer cabinets and offers a platform to integrate optional central- or gang-locking actuators to secure cabinet contents.

Model 3641 carries loads up to 180 pounds and drawers to 42-inches-wide. Rail-and-pocket style mounting brackets make it easy to disconnect drawers. This product is suitable for toolboxes, mobile carts, metal furniture, storage cabinets, lateral files, and other applications where the safety feature of the interlock would provide benefit.

The interlock mechanism is located at the front of the slide. This provides easy access during installation. The cut-to-length aluminum connecting rods allow for varying drawer heights within the same cabinet. When installed as a pair, the 3641 slides offer the increased strength of the interlock mechanism on both sides. For less demanding applications, Model 3641 may be paired with non-locking companion slide Model 3642. These products are available in lengths of 14"–28" (in 2" increments), and 17" [353–709 and 429 mm]. Finishes include clear zinc (C) and black (CB).
