Accuride Expands Heavy-Duty Slide Options
Accuride presents models 7950 and 7957, two new slides designed to expand the company’s heavy-duty slide line-up and provide an intermediate load rating choice between the 3600 and 9300 products.
The 7900 slides offer full extension, a load rating up to 350 pounds, and accommodate drawers up to 42" wide. For added versatility, the slides may be flat mounted at a lower load capacity of up to 150 lbs. per pair.
Designed for applications such as mobile toolboxes and utility vehicle storage, the 7900 slides are a good drop-in alternative for .75" side space projects, giving fabricators additional slide options for mid-range loads, while increasing the aesthetics of the finished product.
Model 7950 does not offer a disconnect method, while Model 7957 has a handed lever disconnect. Both models have an enhanced ball retainer design, which mitigates retainer migration. Two special order models in a smaller cross section of .724" are also available: models 7930 (non-disconnect) and 7937 (handed lever disconnect). All products are available in lengths of 12" to 36" in a clear zinc finish.

ACCURIDE BELT SANDER RACES TEXAS-STYLE
Gather your pit crews and soup up that belt sander!
The Belt Sander Racing Association (BSRA) has planned a special race event at D.B. Roberts Company in Plano, Texas on December 9, 2010, at 4 pm.
Accuride International and D.B. Roberts Company have created this unique event to bring together belt sander racing enthusiasts from the area to compete for awards on a 75-foot-long wooden track. Entrants with the fastest sanders will receive awards; plus a special Judge’s Award and recognition for the Best Dressed Sander will also be presented. Complete rules and entry forms are available at www.accuride.com/bsra.
“The sawdust—and sometimes sanders—really flies at these events,” says BSRA guru and Accuride Regional Sales Manager Jamie Goodwin, “We have had a tremendous turn out at our other regional races this year, with some fierce competition exhibited by the entrants.”
Belt sanders were one of the first power tools repurposed for drag racing. At some point in time, someone got the idea to set up a wooden track and outfit the sanders with extra long extension cords to turn it into a competition. The rest is history.
Most belt sander races include two classes: Stock and Modified. The Stock class requires that the belt sander be a standard product manufactured by a conventional power tool manufacturer. The Modified class allows creative enhancements to improve speed and performance. Both class entries are encouraged to "dress up" their sanders to add personality. You'll see everything from Hello Kitty to Elvis themed racers—which add to the fun of the event.

Accuride Offers Full Extension Two-Way Travel Slide
Accuride introduces Model 0363, a full extension, two-way travel slide that allows drawers to be accessed from both sides of an installation.
This product expands storage in medical or industrial supply carts, or works well in projects calling for interior and exterior access such as drawers or trays used at a drive-through pharmacy or bank.
Offering a 100-pound load rating, Model 0363 has a detent that keeps the drawer or chassis in place at the center point of the slide travel. The slide fully extends in both directions from the center detent to give complete access to drawer contents. There is no disconnect, which ensures conveyances are not unintentionally removed. This product has been tested to 80,000 cycles and is available in zinc in lengths of 16", 20", 24", and 28". It is RoHS compliant.

ACCURIDE PRESENTS THE ASCENT LIFT
Accuride announces the introduction of the Ascent (CBLIFT-0019), a new mechanical lift for televisions and screens up to 14.5 pounds, 17.5" tall, and 22" diagonally.
The Ascent conceals and secures screens when not in use, keeping surfaces free of clutter. To access screens, users press lightly on the top of the lift support column, which activates it to rise in less than 2 seconds.
The Ascent Lift does not require power. The smooth movement is controlled through weights, which are added to counterbalance the screen. The main support column swivels left and right 112.5º to expand viewing angles and the hole pattern provides a wide range of bracket and screen mounting options.
The Ascent is quick and easy to install; the unit is simply aligned to the center of the mounting case and 8 fasteners are installed. Standard packaging includes a cable management kit and a set of weights. Additional weight packs may be purchased to accommodate lighter screens as well as optional fixed or tilt VESA bracket kits for attaching screens or other components to the unit.
The slim and compact design makes the Ascent a multi-purpose solution for a wide range of applications such as customer service counters or kiosks, manufacturing workstations, metal office furniture, medical equipment or carts, or industrial diagnostic equipment. Other uses may be found in motor homes, marine applications, and industrial and mobile construction or office trailers.

Action-Assist™ Lends a Hand to Open and Close Drawers
Accuride presents the 3832 Action-Assist™, a unique slide that helps users open and close drawers with ease. Based on natural elastic energy, the product is straightforward to install, intuitive, and economical.
The user starts the opening and closing action and the slide does the rest. When the drawer is opened, at about the mid-point of travel the assisting forces balance, resulting in a neutral zone where the drawer remains in a steady position. Once the drawer is further extended to about two-thirds of its travel, the slide finishes the opening process. Conversely, as the drawer is pushed inward past the neutral zone, the Action-Assist™ kicks in and pulls the drawer closed.
The installation of this slide is simple and straightforward; it does not require electricity to operate and there are no wires or transformers. Other than minor drawer box changes, installation is very similar to a standard, side mount 3832 full extension slide.
The 3832AA is an affordable solution for those seeking assisted drawer opening and closing. This product also supplies an attractive upgrade to applications such as lighter duty equipment or tool trays and drawers.
In addition to being RoHS compliant, the Action-Assist™ operates through the simple principle of stored and released energy. It does not require the use of power resources; the product’s operation is clean and renewable.
This product is ADA compliant, requiring a pull-force of only 2-3 pounds, making it a good choice for Universal Design projects. The Action-Assist™ has a 100-pound load rating and is available in even lengths of 12" to 28" in a clear zinc or black finish.

Accuride Launches Online Training
Accuride International is taking the knowledge base of their distributor field and inside sales teams to a new level with the launch of an online educational program called ACE Training.
ACE is an acronym for Accuride Certified Expert.
“Graduates of our program will receive recognition as an ACE for their commitment to expanding their product knowledge,” says Calvin Luce, director of distribution sales for Accuride.
“Sales teams for hardware distributors have a daunting task in that they must become familiar with several manufacturers and literally thousands of products. It’s reminiscent of the riddle: how do you eat an elephant? The answer: one bite at a time. The same concept applies with the Accuride product line, which can be overwhelming, since we have such a large range of products that can be used in so many different industries and applications,” added Luce.
Distributor sales reps are often called upon to provide advice on product selection. Accuride designed this program to ensure distributor reps attain a good understanding of not only the product line, but the potential industry applications for each product as well, enabling reps to provide knowledgeable support to their customers.
Luce say, "Time is at a premium for these folks; that's why we developed an online program that allows reps to learn in an on-demand format. The product information is broken into smaller segments, so training can be incorporated into their day as time permits.
"Accuride’s investment in a comprehensive training program such as this benefits all parties; foremost the distributor sales teams and the accounts they call on, which in turn, has a positive result for the distributor and Accuride,” said Luce.

NEW EASY-CLOSE OPTION FOR MODEL 3832
Accuride introduces the 3832 Easy-Close (EC), a 100-pound, full extension, side mount slide designed to bring drawers to a smooth, gentle close.
The 3832EC is an affordable upgrade to installations where safe and quiet operation is desirable such as institutional equipment and carts found in libraries, schoolrooms, laboratories, or hospitals. The easy-close feature is also beneficial for use in a variety of industrial applications including workstations or benches.
The easy-close action on this product has an automatic reset and begins about 1.75" from drawer closure. This distance or stroke, helps to prevent pinched fingers. The pull-force required to open the drawer is less than that typically found on slides with a soft close feature. This was engineered with the end user in mind to provide a balance between the closing and opening actions, thus preventing the drawer from pulling out of the user’s hand and unintentionally re-closing.
The 3832EC has a lever disconnect and Accuride’s signature cam drawer front adjustment. The easy-close mechanism is partially shielded, which prevents debris from entering during construction. This product is available in even lengths of 14" to 28", in clear zinc, black, and white finishes. The zinc and white finishes are RoHS compliant.

Santa Fe Springs, CA-Accuride announces the introduction of models 3832 Touch Release and 3832 Heavy-Duty Touch Release. These slides hold drawers, shelves, or cargo trays in a closed position until activated by touch. A push on the front of the drawer releases and propels it open about 2 inches.
Model 3832TR is well suited to portable cabinets, toolboxes, or equipment carts in medical, institutional, or manufacturing environments. It requires about 11 pounds of force to activate the release.
