Coordinated by the Belt Sander Racing Association (BSRA), Accuride International, and the AWFS®Fair committee, the event will take place at 4:30 pm in the convention center’s North Hall, at booth space 925.

Competitors will vie for awards on a 75-foot wooden track complete with Christmas-tree starting signals. First, second, and third place awards will be presented, as well as a special Judge’s Award and recognition for the Best Design Theme.

“The sawdust—and sometimes sanders—really flies at these events,” says BSRA guru and Accuride Regional Sales Manager Jamie Goodwin, “We have had a tremendous turn out at our regional races over the past two years, with some fierce competition exhibited by the entrants. I imagine the racers will be pulling out the stops in order to bring home a trophy from Vegas.”

The user starts the opening and closing action and the slide does the rest. When the drawer is opened, at about the mid-point of travel the assisting forces balance, resulting in a neutral zone where the drawer remains in a steady position. Once the drawer is further extended to about two-thirds of its travel, the slide finishes the opening process. Conversely, as the drawer is pushed inward past the neutral zone, the Action-Assist™ kicks in and pulls the drawer closed.

Cabinetmakers will find the installation of this slide to be uncomplicated; it does not require electricity to operate and there are no wires or transformers. Other than minor drawer box changes, installation is very similar to a standard, side mount 3832 full extension slide.

The Action-Assist™ slide is an affordable solution for those seeking assisted drawer opening and closing. This product also supplies an upgrade that adds value to new or remodeling projects such as residential kitchens or commercial store fixtures.

Providing full extension and a 100-pound load rating in drawers up to 24" wide, the Eclipse TR (3132TR) holds drawers in a closed position until activated by touch. Pushing on the drawer front propels it open about 2 inches.

 Models AL4120 and AL4140 are lightweight aluminum, with stainless steel ball bearings and ball retainers, which provides corrosion resistance for exterior applications exposed to moisture and high humidity.

Model AL4120 offers ¾ extension and a load rating up to 966 pounds. AL4140 is full extension and carries up to 882 pounds. The 3832EC enhances installations requiring safe and quiet operation. In commercial or institutional settings, it is well suited to cabinetry and casework found in libraries, schoolrooms, laboratories or hospitals, and high-end retail stores. In residential applications, the quiet performance is valued in nearly every part of the home, especially in a child’s room or baby’s nursery.

The easy-close action on this product has an automatic reset and begins about 1.75" from drawer closure. This increased distance, or stroke, helps to prevent pinched fingers. The pull-force required to open the drawer is less than that typically found on slides with a soft close feature. This was engineered with the end user in mind to provide a balance between the closing and opening actions, thus preventing the drawer from pulling out of the user’s hand and unintentionally re-closing.

The 3832EC has a lever disconnect and Accuride’s signature cam drawer front adjustment. The easy-close mechanism is partially shielded, which prevents debris from entering during cabinet construction. This product is available in even lengths of 14" to 28", in clear zinc, black, and white finishes. The zinc and white finishes are RoHS compliant.

Santa Fe Springs, CA-Accuride announces the addition of the Quick Lift to their media hardware collection. The Quick Lift is a remote controlled, motorized assembly designed to carry flat-panel televisions in wood cabinetry. The lift rises for viewing or lowers to conceal screens when not in use.

Streamlined for quick installation, the Quick Lift is pre-wired and pre-mounted to a 3/4" thick backing board that is secured to the rear of the cabinet. Installation requires only standard tools.

The Quick Lift is compatible with most flat-panel television screens up to 50" diagonal and 33.5" tall. It has reinforced steel rails that offer strength and stability, supporting up to a 120-pound load.

The hole and slot pattern on the unit provides several options for bracket and television positioning. Built-in cable management keeps wires clear of the mechanism.

Santa Fe Springs, CA - Accuride announces the availability of new timesaving Production Packaging for slide models 3832 (lengths 10"-28" only), 3834 and 3732 (all lengths).

Production packaging is unique in that the slides are shipped with the drawer members disconnected from the cabinet members. The two types of members are packaged separately within the same box, which allows the drawer members to be distributed to a different area of the cabinet shop for installation. Cabinetmakers using 100 pairs of slides per month can save approximately one full day of labor per year with production packaging.
