This week marks the end of Houston’s 2016 Healthcare Design Expo & Conference, otherwise called “HCD Con 2016.” And you can bet that Accuride® was there showcasing its innovative movement solutions.

The three-day event, held from November 12-15 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, was attended by thousands of healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical planners, researchers, and more. Hosted by Healthcare Design Magazine, the expo is a major venue for the latest technological and design trends appearing in medical products and facilities.

HCD also hosts seminars and award ceremonies for outstanding contributors to the field of healthcare design. D. Kirk Hamilton and Jaynelle Stichler, editors and founders of Health Environments Research & Design Journal, received this year’s Changemaker Award and served as keynote speakers

On the movement solutions side of things, Accuride showcased the 116RC with Sliding Door Mount Kit. The kit works in conjunction with cassettes that use recirculating ball bearing technology, a mounting bracket, and a track. The entire assembly allows one to effortlessly slide doors weighing as much as 793 lbs., depending on the number of cassettes and the type of ball bearings. Dampeners, mounted on either one or both sides, prevent slamming by decelerating the door.

Allison Sherman, Business Development Manager at Accuride, was in attendance at the event. “The 116RC is a wonderful example of what our brand is about. It’s easy to operate, simple to install, and highly customizable. We think it’s the ideal solution for individuals who need the most convenient access possible.”
