A new innovation is featured in Issue #7 of Breakthrough , one of the United Kingdom’s leading magazines on technology and manufacturing.
In an article titled “Turning Up the Heat,” Breakthrough spotlights the company’s second generation of revolutionary pyrolytic oven rails.
Released earlier this year, these groundbreaking rails use a patented design of graphite ball bearings to provide smooth and consistent movement in pyrolytic ovens. Also known as self-cleaning ovens, these appliances harness tremendous heat – with temperatures past 700°F – to turn any unwanted leftover contents into sweep-able ash.
These slides, which come with Miele’s proprietary coating process, use innovative graphite bearings to deliver consistently smooth telescopic movement for racks and trays in ovens.

Having an extendable rail with consistent telescopic movement inside one of these technological wonders is a rarity. It’s also immensely convenient for greater access to whatever you’re cooking.
As mentioned before, Accuride and Miele introduced an earlier generation of pyrolytic rail that used graphite blocks for lubricated movement. The latest use of graphite ball bearings allows for even smoother movement–an Accuride hallmark.
As Jim Armstrong, Accuride’s European sales director points out using a holiday example:
So, you’ve bought a lovely 20lb turkey that you need to put into the oven – what do you do? Turkeys are big, heavy and awkward to carry…most people lean down in front of the oven and push the roasting tray in… Imagine if you could pull the wire rack right out on a telescopic slide, providing a stable platform to lower the turkey onto and slide it into the oven. What a difference it would make.
