Senseon: A Recap of Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going

Last year was a big one—in fact, it was the first one—for Senseon, and we thought it fitting to recap the past year and also look to the one ahead.

Senseon Secure Access is a keyless RFID locking system used for storage applications within various industries such as retail, healthcare, finance, and more. It’s essentially a complete access control kit that’s easy to install and program, and which also remains out of view. Each system supports up to five administrators, 100 general users, and 15 simultaneous openings. Mounted within a drawer or other entry, a user can access contents with a simple tap from a programmable card, fob, or tag. Because it’s concealed, Senseon allows designers to implement the system without any visually unpleasant key holes or mechanisms.

As Accuride’s CEO Scott Jordan quoted: “We created Senseon as the smart successor to traditional access control methods, freeing users from inefficiencies, high maintenance costs, design constraints, and aesthetic limitations.”

Thanks to our expert Research & Design Team, Senseon has been able to harness the rapidly evolving RFID technology and turn it into a lean and flexible access control system.

Unlike other cabinet-level smart locks, Senseon is a commercial access control system that can be integrated directly into many designs. Office access management and retail display security have become a lot simpler with Senseon in place. Senseon is an effective loss prevention tool, one that can reduce cost and act as a time-saver in retail applications by keeping employees from having to leave the sales floor to retrieve merchandise.

With its debut, Senseon gained a lot of attention in the woodworking industry by becoming a finalist for Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award at the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta. The Challengers Award recognizes innovative technology in the woodworking industry. The judges agreed that Senseon, through such valuable features as seamless integration and ease of use, made for an outstanding entry to the field.

We were also at the Healthcare Design & Expo in Houston last year, with a Senseon-equipped cabinet that visitors could interact with. Additionally, Senseon’s ability to make the retail experience more efficient and convenient was highlighted in major industry publications, including STORES, RFID Journal, and Surface & Panel.

We’ll be keeping busy in 2017, so be sure to stay tuned this year as we will be at various industry trade shows, including the Environments for Aging Expo & Conference and GlobalShop, which are set to be held in Las Vegas this spring. Also stay tuned for new videos, guides, and exciting products.
