For over 50 years Accuride has been enhancing functionality and aesthetics in all kinds of cabinet designs. When we saw a need for electronic locks, we found ourselves in a unique position to revolutionize electronic locking systems from the inside out. Thus, Senseon was born.
Seeking a proven technology that our customers would be comfortable using, our team of engineers built Senseon with RFID technology. This dependable, secure technology is ideal for managing access and designing beautiful casework.
By pairing this technology with Accuride drawer slides, we created a locking system like no other. By mounting the lock to the rail, cabinetmakers no longer have to account for space on the exterior or at the front of the cabinet for a bulky lock – it just becomes a part of the cabinet. This makes the lock near impervious to subversion attempts.
If a key for a traditional CAM lock is lost or broken, you may have to replace the entire lock. With Senseon’s RFID technology, an administrator can delete the lost or damaged tag and program a new one in minutes with the tap of a card.
Since RFID locks require no physical keys, there are no visible access points. This means there are no unsightly keyholes for thieves to target – keeping your contents secure and preserving your cabinet design.

How it works
Imagine the reader as the door attendant at an office building. The attendant is responsible for determining if a person has proper credentials before gaining access to the upper floors of the building.
Senseon does the same thing at the cabinet level. This state-of-the-art electronic access control system only allows authorized users access to cabinet doors and drawers.
Senseon uses a reader, hub, electronic lock, and power supply to keep valuables secure in commercial and residential environments. Easy to use, users just tap a RFID card on a hidden reader, sending an unlock signal to the system hub, which sends the signal to open the electronic lock. That signal grants access to the user in less than the blink-of-an-eye.
The reader can be placed anywhere on or below a surface that is accessible for the end user to scan their user card.
While you can mount the reader below a surface, it’s important to make sure the material its mounted under is an inch or less in thickness and non-metal, to ensure readability. Some materials that work with Senseon’s reader include:
Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)
High Pressure Laminate (HPL)
Thick Phyletic Laminate (TPL)
While not required, it is best to mount the reader on a static surface. This reduces the risk of cables tangling during movement of your drawer or sliding door.
Because material composition may impact signal transmission, the material should be tested with the RFID reader. With Senseon being RFID-driven the signal does not transmit through metal. For metal cabinets, the reader would need to mounted externally.
Some electronic locks attach the reader to the lock, similar to traditional locks. Our engineers designed Senseon’s electronic locks separate from the reader to increase the security of Senseon. In doing this, designers gain additional flexibility with casework design.
The reader can be mounted horizontally or vertically, so long as the front surface of the reader can read access control cards.
If you’re installing the reader below a surface, you can use a visual identifier such as a sticker or marker to make locating the scan location easier for end users.
The reader plays a significant role in ensuring your valuables are kept secure from any subversion attempts.
